Data residency
Vercel London edge (lhr1) and Neon Postgres on AWS Europe West 2 (London). No learner data leaves the UK or EU for steady-state operations.
Accessibility
Published Accessibility Statement. Walked with NVDA, VoiceOver, and Dragon by our in-house accessibility lead. Adult learners at 200% zoom are inside the audience, not an edge case.
Encryption
Awarding-body credentials are encrypted before they touch the database. TLS 1.2+ in transit on every request, provided by Vercel.
Authentication
TOTP for every provider account. Signed cookies via jose (HS256, 8-hour TTL). Role-based routing keeps tutor, Quality Manager, and learner surfaces separate.
AI safeguards
Zero Data Retention is set on every Dr Clive call routed via Vercel AI Gateway. Settings, auth events, bulk actions, and every Dr Clive interaction land in the audit log.
Built for adult learners
Built for 24-year-old retail supervisors retaking Maths, 38-year-old electricians sitting their first FS L2, and 47-year-old career-switchers retraining at 200% browser zoom. No cartoon mascots. No streak badges. No infantilising copy.

Dr Clive — in-product tutor
Dr Clive is powered by Anthropic Claude (Anthropic API, EU-fronted via Vercel AI Gateway). Per-request Zero Data Retention is set on every Dr Clive call routed via Vercel AI Gateway, so learner inputs and model responses for these calls are not retained at the gateway layer. Anthropic’s standard commercial API terms also bind: learner inputs are not used to train Anthropic’s models.
Dr Clive is formative only. It asks adult learners questions rather than giving them answers, never marks summative work, never determines a learner’s level, and is always supervised by the learner’s tutor. Tutors and Quality Managers see every Dr Clive interaction in the audit log.
A Data Processing Agreement is available on request, including the sub-processor list and country-of-processing detail.

A human walks every shipped surface across mobile, tablet, and desktop. Visible-but-non-functional bugs and clicks-but-nothing-happens regressions are caught before a learner ever sees them.
Light 2
Vitest unit tests for every scoring algorithm, Playwright end-to-end tests for the critical flows, axe for accessibility. The suite must be green before the deploy can run.
Light 3
A design review against the published design system — colour, type, spacing, motion. The platform should still look like itself after every shipped surface.
